Project overview

This platform enables older adults to offer classes based on their professional experience, skills and personal knowledge, helping them stay active, engaged and socially connected.

Learners—primarily young adults—can discover and join sessions online or in person, creating meaningful intergenerational learning experiences.

The challenge
Many older adults experience isolation and loss of purpose after retirement, which can negatively impact their mental health. At the same time, younger generations often lack opportunities to connect with and learn from their experience.

The opportunity was to design a simple and accessible platform that empowers seniors to share their knowledge while fostering empathy and connection across generations.

A simple learning platform designed to help older adults easily create and offer classes, while allowing users to discover, book and attend sessions based on their interests and availability.

The experience prioritizes accessibility, clarity and trust for both audiences.

Create and publish a class
A guided flow that helps seniors define their topic, format (online or in-person), schedule and pricing in a simple and accessible way.

Discover and book classes
Users can browse categories, view instructor profiles and book sessions quickly, encouraging exploration and connection.

The landing introduces Sabius’ purpose: giving experienced adults a space to share their knowledge while helping new generations learn from real-life expertise. The structure highlights the value, how the platform works and encourages users to start exploring or join as mentors.

A simple and intuitive directory that allows users to browse mentors by category, expertise or format (online or in-person). The design prioritizes quick scanning and easy comparison.

Class search
Users can explore available courses and workshops based on their interests. Clear filters and structured cards help them quickly find learning opportunities that match their goals

Mentor profile
Each profile focuses on building trust through experience, background and teaching style. Users can understand who the mentor is, what they offer and why they are the right person to learn from.

Course detail
The course page provides key information such as content, format, duration and availability, helping users make confident decisions before enrolling.

Student profile
A personal space where learners manage their information, track their courses and keep their learning journey organized in one place.
